Coping with Stress...

So today I went grocery shopping at our Super Walmart. Of course I had little K with me. I HAVE to learn how to better handle her while out NOW, so I can manage when #2 arrives.

Kaelin does not just sit meekly in a grocery cart seat. She wants to walk, but then she gets very easily side tracked and stops or runs in the opposite direction of me. I am trying to get out my coupons, calculate deals and refer to my shopping list during this time. I locked her into one of the shopping carts that has two seats for two kids, but the Houdini got out! Walking again...I picked her up and carried her and pushed the cart for awhile, but that really winded me.

At one point in the frozen section, I almost succumbed to tears...yes, really....tears, over a shopping trip with my 2 year old, but I got a hold myself and found a baggie of Cheeze-Its in my purse! Yeah! That kept her entertaining and SEATED for about 10 minutes. Then we sang the ABC's while riding through the aisles for another 10 minutes.

I am fairly organized before I go grocery shopping, but I need to refine the process even more.

Kaelin's Hiding Place

Babywearing/Cloth Diaper Savings...

Mini Turkey Burgers

I'm forever trying to get Kaelin to eat what we eat. Some weeks, shes a great eater and then others, I feel like she eats nothing and will go to bed hungry! However, she does always eat fresh fruit: strawberries, pineapples, grapes, mandarin oranges, whatever!

I made these little mini turkey burgers one day and even made the dinner rolls to put them in and they were yummy! Kaelin and I had barbeque sauce with ours (we both like to dip!).

Lo and behold, I made these again this week and guess what?! No eat! Just when I think I have a winner...

My New Stroller--for a bargain price!

I had wanted to get a lightweight stroller for some time. I'd been scouring craigslist for some time searching for a high quality one at a decent price and finally decided that I wanted the Chicco Capri. It carries kiddos up to 37 lbs and the seat reclines back. We mostly babywear still with Kaelin, but I just liked the idea of having a stroller with #2 on the way!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any on CL and the used ones on ebay were still almost full price! Last week, I saw that they were $10 off at Babies R Us AND I had a 20% off coupon for Toys R Us (which Babies R Us) accepts, so I got the stroller for only $48. I figure when I'm all done with it, I'll be able to resell it for almost what I paid for it!
